Making MTSS Work As school counselors’ responsibilities mount, we need the tools to work in an increasingly vibrant, more complex, fast-paced world. We need to work with our colleagues and stakeholders to ensure our schools meet the needs of all students currently and prepare them for the future. We need to work smarter, not harder. One strategy for working efficiently, and to maximize school counselor efforts and outcomes, is to align school counseling programs with a multitiered system of supports (MTSS).
